HEAT PUMP FAQ'S

Air source heat pumps will help reduce the cost of your  electricity bills. An air source heat pump, overtime will pay for itself over time, and is a good return of investment, especially if you purchase a good quality hot tub or swim spa.

Yes, all of the air source heat pumps installed by Take Wellness will work in freezing termperatures. In fact they will work in temperatures down to either -7C or -10C. But as a general rule the colder the ambient temperature and below 15°C, the longer it will take to heat up to your ideal working temperature. 

Air source heat pumps push a refrigerant through the copper heat exchanger coils. This activates both the compressor and condenser and they combine to change the refrigerant’s state from a cool liquid to a warm gas. When in heating mode, the liquid refrigerant boils as it travels through the coils. Any heat carried within the refrigerant is stored until it evaporates; then, the gas is compressed, which increases its temperature. Finally, as gas moves through a pressure valve, which returns it to a liquid state while transferring the heat to the element.
