Preparing for Your Sauna Installation:
Essential Steps for a Smooth Setup
Proper preparation ensures a smooth installation process and optimal performance of your sauna. Here’s a comprehensive guide on what you need to do before our team arrives.
Base – Flat and Level
The foundation of your sauna is crucial. Ensure that the base where your sauna will be installed is flat and level. A stable and level base guarantees the structural integrity of your sauna and prevents any future issues related to uneven surfaces.
Electrical Requirements
Most saunas require a 32-amp supply on a Type C breaker. However, if you have a three-phase power supply, your sauna can also be wired accordingly.
Here are the steps to ensure your electrical setup is ready:
- Main Fuse Board Feed: Ensure there is a dedicated feed from your main fuse board.
- Triple Pole Isolator: The feed should pass through a triple pole isolator.
- Sufficient Lead Length: Make sure the lead from the isolator to the sauna heater is long enough to reach, taking into account any corners or routing obstacles.
- Heat-Resistant Cable: Use a heat-resistant cable from the isolator to the heater to ensure safety and durability.
For outdoor saunas, the isolator is typically attached to the rear of the sauna for easy access and protection from the elements.
